In my previous post about the Lavaux vineyards, I say that the city I live in is on the shores of the Lac Léman, which is one of the biggest lake in Europe, making a natural border of almost 80 km between Switzerland and France. At one side is the city of Geneva. Other famous places on the lake are Montreux or the Château de Chillon, which inspired Lord Byron and many other writers from the 19th century.
Living near a lake is a great experience. When it’s sunny and hot, it gives the impression of being on vacations. In the winter, with the Alps covered with snow, it gives a great contrast for photography. And the CGN company operating the beautiful “Belle Époque” style boats provides great cruises around the lake as well as great opportunity for aerial photography.
