In the summer of 2019, we decided to visit Corsica. It was a destination in our wish list for some times. As usual, we are not the type of family to stay in one place or hotel, but rather prefer road trips. So to visit Corsica, we chose to land in Bastia and rent a car. The first day, we crossed the whole island to stop for a couple of days in Porto Ota, on the west coast of Southern Corsica. The landscapes are gorgeous, both inland with pine woods and high mountains, and on the sea side with steep cliffs above the sea like the “Calanques de Piana“.
Then we headed south to Ajaccio for 3 days to finally cross the island again and stay in Porto Vecchio. From there you can easily reach the iconic city of Bonifacio, built above the sea on steep cliffs. You can also discover the beautiful beaches of Palombaggia or Rondinara with their teal water looking like in Caribbean Sea.
Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to fly the drone as much as I would have liked. It was very windy, and I was afraid of loosing it in the sea. After getting the shot of Bonifacio on the cliffs, I thought I would not be able to get it back as I had to fly it against strong winds, having the feeling it was only hovering but not progressing!!
