Over the summer of 2022, we spent our holidays in Liguria region, the northern part of Italy which is costal to the Mediterranean Sea. Its main city is Genova which we visited in the spring of 2018.
This time we spent our time in the hills above the city of La Spezia which is a great location to visit the gorgeous gems such as Lerici or Porto Venere, 2 small towns on the Gulf of La Spezia. Both have a castle overseeing the sea, beautiful small harbors and old narrow roads which you can only visit by foot.
We of course spent a day in the Cinque Terre, since La Spezia train station is the easiest and quickest way to get to visit the 5 villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza & Monterosso al Mare.
