Phang Nga bay islands viewed from the Koyao Island Resort

Southern Thailand

As explained in a previous post, we love Thailand, its people, food and beautiful landscapes. If the north is full of hills and forests, the south is of course all sea and islands! We visited a few of them, starting with the largest, Phuket, which is very different if you go south or north. We enjoyed the very family friendly Koh Lanta, when the kids were still young. It has gorgeous rain forests to explore. We made a trip to Koh Phi Phi with a speed boat. But my favorite island was Koh Yao with its breathtaking views into the Andaman sea and the many little islands.

Once again, the views and landscapes are stunning, but the locals are so nice and always make you feel at home. Phuket being very touristy, you could only see the beach boys and the night-life, but even there if you look well, you easily meet great simple people willing you make you discover their culture and local products!
