I definitely love Italy and visited the country many times (here and here). In the summer of 2021, we decided to spend 2 weeks in Tuscany. It’s a great region rich of cultural beauties with cities like Sienna, Florence or Pisa.
You can also drive a little bit to see a beautiful countryside with small villages such as San Gimignano and its five high towers or obviously capture the famous cypress trees of the Val d’Orcia.
While most of the famous cities and places are inland, the seaside is very pleasant to visit. We discovered the “Spiagge Bianche”, a long white sand beach near the city of Rosignano Solvay. The unusual color of the sand and turquoise of the water is the result of years of discharges of calcium bicarbonate from a local plant.
I also went for an early morning bike tour to visit the small village of Bolgheri, famous for its wine and the 4 km long alley of cypress trees leading to it. I was there just in time to capture the sunrise aligned with the straight road.
